Suggesting a new place step by step

Know a place that is not yet listed on Camperwolf? You can suggest it here.

We only need a few details to create a new place. Everything else is optional and can be added now or later by the community.

1. Enter the place name

Enter the name of the place.

Use the operator's official name where possible, or the name the place is generally known by.

2. Choose a place type

Choose the type that best describes the place:

• Campground - A classic campground for motorhomes, caravans, tents, and similar forms of camping.
• Motorhome pitch - A dedicated place for motorhomes or campervans, often similar to a parking area.
• Tent site - A site intended specifically for tents, such as trekking, youth, or scout camps.
• Parking area - A regular parking area. Whether overnight stays are allowed or tolerated is recorded separately.
• Rest area / truck stop - A rest area, service area, or truck stop for travellers, including truck traffic.
• Informal pitch - A simple pitch outside traditional campgrounds or parking areas, such as a field, farm, or lakeside spot.
• Service station - A place offering camping-related services such as fresh water, waste disposal, washing facilities, or workshop services.
• Camping & outdoor store - A camping or outdoor retailer or another permanent camping-related shop.

3. Set the location

Next, we need the exact location of the place.

There are three alternative ways to do this - you only need to use one. If you set the location using a different method, it replaces the previous selection:

• Search for an address.
• Or select the position directly on the map. Camperwolf will then try to fill in the matching address automatically.
• Or enter the coordinates directly if you know them.

For example, coordinates can be entered like this:

`51.1234567, 7.1234567`

Try to mark the actual location of the place rather than an approximate point nearby.

That is already enough

The name, place type, and location are enough to suggest a new place.

If you do not want to add anything else, select "Submit for review".

If you would like to add information about the place's facilities first, select "Add features" instead.

Optional: add features

The next step shows the features suggested for the selected place type.

Select a feature to see which information you can provide.

Some features only need to be marked as available or not available. Others let you add more details, such as distances, dimensions, prices, or technical information.

There is no minimum number of features you need to complete.

Only enter information you are reasonably sure about. If you do not know something, leave it blank. On Camperwolf, a missing answer means "unknown", not "not available".

Missing information can be added later by you or other members of the community.

Submit your suggestion

When you are finished, select "Submit for review".

A moderator or administrator will review your suggestion as soon as possible. Once a decision has been made, you will receive a notification under the bell icon.
