Rules and recommendations for photo uploads

Which photos are allowed on Camperwolf and which images are particularly useful to other campers.

Photos should help other campers see what a place really looks like. A few rules keep the galleries useful and fair.

Rules

  • No nudity or sexualised content. Visible genitals, exposed female breasts and pornographic content are not allowed, including at naturist locations.
  • No illegal or age-inappropriate content. This includes prohibited symbols, graphic violence or gore, illegal drugs, unlawful weapons content and other prohibited material. Applicable German law and directly applicable EU law apply in particular.
  • Camperwolf may also reject other unsuitable content that breaks these platform rules even if it is not clearly illegal.
  • Respect other people's rights. Do not upload photos showing identifiable people unless you are sure they agree to publication. Also respect photography restrictions and the rules of the place.
  • Place-gallery photos must be related to the place. Suitable subjects include pitches, access, sanitary facilities, reception, service points and the directly relevant surroundings. Pure selfies and unrelated holiday photos do not belong in a place gallery.
  • Only upload photos you have the right to use. Do not copy images from websites, search engines, social media, booking portals or operator sites without explicit permission.
  • Do not show private or confidential information. This includes booking details, access codes, QR codes, email addresses and phone numbers.
  • No misleading images. AI-generated place photos, composites or edits that materially change the real condition are not allowed.
  • No advertising or spam. Advertising graphics, discount codes, flyers or images mainly intended for self-promotion are not allowed.

Recommendations for place photos

The most useful photos help other campers understand the place before they arrive.

Good subjects include:

  • pitches, dimensions and ground conditions
  • entrances, exits and difficult access
  • fresh-water and waste facilities
  • electrical hookups and other infrastructure
  • sanitary facilities
  • reception, machines and signs
  • barriers, height restrictions and other visible limitations
  • views and the immediate surroundings
  • nearby infrastructure when it is practically relevant to the place
  • factual documentation of problems such as potholes or broken facilities

Avoid identifiable people where possible, including yourself. The place should be the main subject.

Several different views are more useful than many nearly identical photos. Prefer recent, realistic images without heavy filters.

Recommendations for profile photos

A profile photo does not need to be related to a place. Simply choose an image that represents you in the community.

The photo rules still apply. If other people are identifiable, make sure they agree to publication.
